Driven by a shared commitment to real food and energetic atmospheres, our owners work tirelessly to ensure that every café delivers the exact same high standard. From ensuring the freshest sushi and açaí to crafting the perfect paninis, they are actively invested in making every location a destination for great food.
Prakash Shrestha
Owner/Operator and VP of Operations
Prakash Shrestha is the Owner/Operator and VP of Operations of Citra Cafe, with more than 30 years of experience in the food service industry. His career began in 1995 as a dishwasher at Au Bon Pain in Harvard Square, where he worked his way up to General Manager. He later became the owner and operator of multiple Subway franchise locations before opening the first Citra Cafe in 2011.
Today, Prakash owns and operates four Citra Cafe locations, with a fifth location at Boston University opening this fall. Having worked at nearly every level of the restaurant business, he brings a hands-on understanding of what it takes to run a successful cafe, from serving customers and supporting employees to managing the day-to-day operations of multiple locations. His hands-on experience at every level of restaurant operations continues to shape Citra’s focus on quality food, dependable service, and a welcoming customer experience.
